Since the program is based off the premise ofNO weightsandNO equipment.  The inside cover shows a gym floor.  The Plyo Cardio Circuit was done in this gym, and I have to assume the other workouts are as well.  Nice picture of the gym.  The page is actually a hard cover.

The next several pictures show the pages throughout the book.  Each page has some DVDs, and a nice photo, “action shot” of the workouts.  Again, very professional.

P90X Review: Day 13 - Kenpo X

P90X Review: Day 13 - Kenpo X
P90X Workout: Day 13
Today is Saturday - time for Kenpo X. First some good news though, I woke up and decided to weigh myself. I am down a total of 7 lbs just short of the 2 week mark. Last week I weighed myself and was only down 2 lbs., which depressed me a little. After today’s weigh-in I feel more on track. Also, I did a little test on the chin-up bar - I am now up to 4. Last time I checked - on P90X Day 8 - I was up to 2.5 chin-ups. I’m liking the progress so far, but 4 is still pretty embarrassing. A lot more work to do here (it is only day 13!)

I decided to run first this morning. Today is my day for some extra cardio, so I did my run in the morning. My last good piece of news is that I am now up to about 5 miles. I stopped the run feeling I probably could have gotten a couple more miles in too. This is exciting and I think if things continue this way - maybe a half marathon could be in my future. There is a half marathon in my town each November, so I will definitely keep you updated on this. Right now I can’t fathom running 13.1 miles, but we will see.

Kenpo X went great. As I said last time, I love this workout. There is constant movement throughout the video, a lot less breaks, and it really gets you sweating. Just what I like!

Nutrition
My nutrition slacks a little on Saturday’s, but not too badly. I had to have a couple slices of pizza tonight, but ate well the rest of the day. I plan on working in some cardio tomorrow. I’ll see if I can get in another 5+ miles.

Day 13 Review
Today was probably the best day yet. I had the good weigh-in results, I am progressing nicely on the chin-up bar, and upped my cardio. Not too much to complain about!

P90X Review: Day 9 - Plyometric Training

P90X Review: Day 9 - Plyometric Training

P90X Workout: Day 9

Day 9 of the P90X workout was much better than Day 2 - Plyos. As with my Chest and Back workout yesterday, things seemed a little easier the second time around. I knew what exercises to expect and felt like I completed more of the reps - with less breaks. I’ve done plyos before, so I expect myself to pick this up pretty quickly. Some of the exercises involved in the plyos workout are - Jump Squats, Airborne Heismans, Swing Kicks, Lateral Leapfrogs, and Military Marches. The workout went great, my heart rate is at the top of my zone throughout the workout, and in the early evening I will be going for a 3+ mile run!

Nutrition

The diet is staying consistent. I am still sticking with some scrambled egg whites for breakfast, followed by a protein bar during snack time. For lunch today I had some chicken salad - made from left over chicken for last night’s dinner. My dinner was a very delicious turkey burger and a small salad. I’ve noticed my after dinner snack cravings are not as strong. I am hoping I see some more weight loss this week.

Day 9 Review

Another great day in my P90X Workout. The Plyos were intense, my diet was right on target and I can see some improvement in my extra cardio runs. I think by the end of this week I will be stretching the run to just over 4 miles.

Also, this may be from the nutrition - or maybe sweating more, but my skin has been feeling much better. Not a huge deal, but it seems a little clearer. I bet drinking more water, and less soda and/or sugar filled drinks is a big part of this as well.

P90X Review: Day 7 - Stretch X

P90X Workout: Day 7
Today was Day 7 of my workout, which was either rest or Stretch X. I decided to pop in the video and press play. I would really like to get more flexible and there’s no harm in a good stretch! Nothing real crazy here - just a solid hour of stretching. You work from the neck - all the way down. I felt great after the hour and will most likely be doing this video ever day designated for rest.
Nutrition
My diet went well today. I had a protein shake and some fruit and non-fat yogurt for lunch. I drink Muscle Milk instead of the protein powder recommended by P90X. I’ve tried numerous whey protein shakes before and always got turned off by the after taste. Muscle Milk tastes great, so I think I will stick with it for now. For dinner I had 8 ounces of steak and a sweet potato.

Day 7 Review
I felt so good today after my stretch that I decided to follow it up with a 3-mile run. I wavered off the diet yesterday, P90X-Day 6, so I wanted to make sure I put some extra cardio in. It may have been the stretching, or the lack of any workout - but I was able to stretch the 3 mile run out to just under 4 miles. I am going to test this out during the week, as I really want to up my cardio as I progress along the workout.

P90X Results 60 Days,lose weight crazily!!!

P90X Results 60 Days weight loss results!!!

60 days of P90X, 30 more to go. I’m in the home stretch now and really giving it my all knowing that at the beginning of May will show the results of P90X. I’ve already decided that when I end this workout journey, I’ll probably do another round of this extreme workout. It will be warmer out by then and so I’ll be getting some extra cardio when I commute to work on my bike. It’s about a 13 mile ride each way, so it’s a nice little workout. I’ll also sub in something for Kenpo X,  that workout doesn’t quite do it for me.  For these first 90 days I’m following the program exactly as to not effect the results either way.

During the last 30 days since my P90X Results 30 Day post, I hit a weight loss plateau. It was so frustrating to work hard everyday, closely monitor my nutritional intake, and see no change on the scale. There wasn’t a noticeable change around my waist like I saw from Day 1 to Day 30. I was reading the book, “Burn the Fat - Feed the Muscle” and the author had several suggestion on how to break out of a plateau and the only one that didn’t change the P90X workout routines is to temporarily increase the caloric intake. I gave it a try and lost a pound and a half two weeks after that adjustment in my diet.

After the 30 day mark, the routines get a little more varied and as I was getting closer to the 60 day mark I was improving on all the workouts.  I’ve almost maxed out the weight plates I have now for the Shoulders and Arms workout.  I’ve really noticed my biceps and triceps getting bigger and better defined.

One habit that I’ve managed to be consistent with is tracking my caloric intake to analyze my diet.  It’s tedious, but just like recording the repetitions you perform during P90X, tracking your diet reveals areas that are on target or need improvement.  I’m using the desktop version of Fitday.com - it has a lot of great features.

I took my photos the other day and like they say, the camera doesn’t lie.  I really can’t see much of difference between Day 30 and Day 60. When I look at myself in the mirror, I look better than I do when I see my own photos on the computer screen.  Oh well, I’ll push play every day and how I look at 90 days.

Since day 1 I’ve lost 7 pounds and about 2% body fat.  Without further delay

Day 1
Weight: 185
Fat Percentage: 25.7%

Day 30
Weight: 180
Fat Percentage: 24.5%

Day 60
Weight: 178
Fat Percentage: 23.9%
